Melissa Couch-Toal is the President of Med-Expertise, LLC (MEL) and begets more than 15 years of leadership experience in the medical legal arena. Through her years of business experience and professional development her vision and business acumen grew the company into a national legal partner offering custom tailored services to streamline medical legal support. Under Melissa’s direction, Med-Expertise has reviewed and provided testimony for hundreds of thousands of medical cases including Med-Mal, Personal Injury and Mass Tort Pharmaceutical litigation.

This level of understanding and commitment to quality led to Melissa’s engagement into the Health care Arena. She has a strategic alliance with a Healthcare Technology Firm to perform work-flow and contact analysis for medical entities. This includes a concentration on standard claims processing practices as well as collecting, documenting and analyzing all relevant legal documents. Her role in overseeing these practices has allowed her to be an active Director on the CIRCA (Claims Intensive Revenue Claims Analysis) Advisory Board. Melissa is also on the advisory board of Med-Enterprise, LLC., a cutting edge Healthcare Consulting Company.

Wilma J.  Couch, BSN., RN
Director of Nursing & Founder

Wilma J. Couch has over 30 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, Legal Nurse Consultant, administrator, practice management consultant and educator. As a practice management consultant, she has hired and trained staff members for dozens of physicians. Her responsibilities included consulting on compliance issues regarding Medicare/Medicaid, workers’ compensation regulations and meeting strict managed care, HMO, PPO and private insurance requirements. As a Legal Nurse Consultant, she analyzed medical documents and interpreted diagnoses for attorneys and served as liaison between the medical professional staff and attorneys nationwide. In addition, she consulted on personal injury/disability, malpractice and other insurance and healthcare cases.

This experience has given Wilma an in-depth understanding of the health care system, the ability to identify talent and develop expertise in nurses she works with and offer the best in legal nurse consulting services.
